I research the history and design of Australian and New Zealand small craft, with a focus on trailer sailers and traditional wooden boats.

Australian Trailer Sailers is an independent project created to help sailors research and better understand Australian trailer sailers and small cruising yachts. The focus of the site is practical information, thoughtful analysis, and honest discussion about the strengths and compromises of different designs.

Like many sailors, I became frustrated by how scattered and incomplete information about older Australian trailer yachts can be. This site aims to help preserve and organise some of that information in one place for current and future sailors.

The aim is to answer the question, as much as possible, what yacht has what?
